Maintenance & waterproofing

A few simple steps to preserve its shine, precision and waterproofness.

TAKE CARE OF YOUR WATCH

A well-maintained watch retains its shine, reliability and everyday comfort for longer.

Preserve the performance and aesthetics of your watch with a few simple steps.

Waterproofing

Respect the indicated waterproofing level.

All our watches are tested to be water resistant, but each level has its limits:

  • 3ATM: splashes, rain, hand washing
  • 5ATM: shower, daily use with moderate contact with water
  • 10ATM: swimming, swimming pool

Some tips:

Before any immersion, make sure that the crown is correctly pushed back into its initial position or carefully screwed down, if your watch is equipped with one.

After each swim in the pool or at sea, rinse your watch carefully with clean water.

It is not recommended to wet watches equipped with a leather strap.

Avoid handling the crown or buttons underwater.

Avoiding magnetic waves

Magnetic fields can disrupt the operation of your watch. Avoid prolonged contact with:

  • Smartphones or Tablets
  • Speakers
  • Magnetic closures
  • Electronic objects
  • Induction hobs
  • Certain medical devices
  • Any other device generating a magnetic field

Avoid shocks

A watch remains a precision instrument, even when it is robust. Avoid falls, violent impacts and significant vibrations.

  • Avoid significant blows and shocks
  • Remove your watch during risky sporting activities
  • Impacts can damage the movement or misalign the hands

Clean your watch regularly

Use a soft, dry cloth to remove traces, dust and perspiration. For a steel bracelet, a slightly damp cloth can also be used.

Avoid contact with chemicals and perfumes. Perfume, solvents, creams or household products can damage the seals, bracelet and finishes.

Adjust it carefully

Handle the crown with care, never force it. For automatic models, avoid changing the date during undesirable time slots.

Tips for setting the date:

On an automatic watch equipped with a date display, avoid any correction of the date when the time indicated is between9 p.m. and 3 a.m..

During this period, the internal mechanism prepares or carries out the automatic date change.

If you need to adjust the date, start by moving the time forward until after3h, then proceed with the adjustment.

Any manipulation carried out during this phase can damage the mechanism and impair the proper functioning of the watch.

Store it correctly

When you are not wearing your watch, store it in a dry place, away from humidity and direct light.
